FAQ — everything you wanted to know about FixedFloat
If you searched for fixedfloat, fix float, ffio or ff platform and ended up here, you probably have questions. Below are the most common — answered by the FF team.
General
Do I need to register on FixedFloat?
No. Standard cryptocurrency pairs require zero account, zero email
and zero government ID. The FF platform was built around the
principle that an exchange does not need an account to do its job.
Is ff-io.io the same as ff.io?
Yes. ff-io.io is the official mirror of the original ff.io /
FixedFloat exchange and runs the same engine, the same hot-wallet
liquidity and the same support team.
Is FixedFloat available in the United States?
Yes. The platform is accessible from US-based traffic. Because the
service is non-custodial and does not provide fiat banking or
staking, it operates outside regulated brokerage activity. US
users remain responsible for their own tax reporting on capital
gains.
Exchange process
How long does an exchange take?
Most swaps complete in 5 to 30 minutes. Fast chains like TRC-20
and Solana finish in under a minute on the receive side; the
bottleneck is usually the deposit chain confirmation time (BTC
averages 10 minutes per block).
What is the difference between fixed and float rate?
Fixed rate locks the price the moment you confirm the order — you
receive exactly the displayed amount regardless of how the market
moves. Float rate uses the live mid-market price at payout, with
no spread but with the upside/downside of market movement.
What happens if I send the wrong amount?
FixedFloat detects the actual amount received. If it is below the
order minimum, the engine offers a refund-to-source. If it differs
from the expected amount but is within the platform's tolerance,
the order will be processed and the output adjusted
proportionally.
Can I cancel an order?
An order can be voluntarily cancelled before any deposit is
detected. Once a deposit is on-chain it is processed
automatically. If you no longer want the swap, the engine offers a
refund flow.
Fees and limits
How much does FixedFloat charge?
The platform fee starts at 0.5% per swap. The on-chain network fee
depends on the receive-chain — typically a few cents on TRC-20, a
few dollars on ERC-20 during congestion. There are no other
charges.
Is there a maximum amount?
For standard pairs, very large orders may be capped by the size of
the FixedFloat hot wallet on the receive-chain at that moment. The
widget shows the current per-pair maximum live.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The number you see in the widget is the number you receive. No
idle-balance fees, no withdrawal fees, no spread on float-rate
orders.
Security and privacy
Does FixedFloat ever ask for KYC?
For standard pairs, no. In the rare event that an incoming address
is flagged as high-risk by industry blockchain analytics
(sanctioned addresses, confirmed darknet sources, proceeds of
public hacks), the order is paused and our compliance team
contacts the user. This is an exception path; the typical user
never sees it.
What does the "FixedFloat exchange hot wallet" mean?
It is a pre-funded liquidity reserve held on each supported
network. The hot wallet pays out the receiving asset the moment
your deposit reaches the required confirmation threshold. Cold
storage holds the bulk of platform inventory and is rebalanced on
a schedule.
Is my data stored?
FixedFloat retains the minimum logs required to deliver the
service safely and to comply with legitimate legal requests. We
never sell or share user data with marketers. See the
privacy policy for details.
USDT and chains
What's the difference between TRC-20 and ERC-20 USDT?
Both are native USDT, but on different blockchains. TRC-20 lives
on Tron — almost-zero fees, fast confirmations. ERC-20 lives on
Ethereum — higher gas, but maximum DeFi compatibility.
Can I exchange USDT between chains?
Yes. FixedFloat acts as an instant cross-chain bridge for
stablecoins. Send TRC-20 USDT, receive ERC-20 USDT (or vice-versa)
— native USDT on both ends, no wrapping, no smart-contract bridge.
Order tracking
Where do I track my exchange?
Every order has a unique URL with a status timeline (awaiting →
received → confirmed → exchange → done). Bookmark it; you can come
back later to see input and output transaction hashes.
